Requirements for Submission  (FFMC)
  1. Theme of 2026 Essay: Music is...our constant companion
  2. Essay MUST be typed and no longer than 500 words.
  3. Refer to NFMC Form JR 12-1 for basis of judging.
  4. The current year’s theme and entrant’s name must be typed at the top of the first page.
  5. Include the teacher’s email address and telephone number at the top of the first page.
  6. Entry fee of $5 is nonrefundable.  Make check payable to FFMC, Inc.  
    Your cancelled check     will serve as confirmation of receipt of your FFMC Essay application.
  7. Contest is open to students in Grades 7-12.  Junior FFMC membership is required. 
    Ask your teacher for name of Junior Club. 
    Otherwise, include $20 for Junior membership, in addition to the $5.

Please keep a copy of the essay for your own records.  The Essay becomes the property of the sponsoring group for publication of the entire essay or parts of it and will not be returned.

The decision of the judges will be final and accepted by all.
